The biggest name in Aussie rules footy, Ronald Dale Barassi died this week aged 87. He gave a speech before 'The Galahs' played Meath in 1967, that we asked him to recreate.

Ron Barassi was, for much of his life, the best known person in Australian rules football. His career spanned five decades. He won six premierships as a player, and four as a coach. His personal story pulsed alongside that of the country, taken in as a teen by Norm Smith and his wife after Ron Barassi Snr was killed at Tobruk.
